This will be a great news for web developers /coders like me. Earlier to test the site in Safari, we had to check the site on Mac machine but now those days are gone, Apple today announced availability of their browser Safari 3 for windows.
You can get it from here
Hmm….good thing that we have one more browser to use on. I’ll download and check it out as how good it is.
You forgot to mention its a Beta relaese 🙂
it is indeed fast, but it doesnt open php websites very well… most of the time it shows error…. i havent been able to open my wp admin page yet.. the error uit shows is given below… i have reported it to apple..
Safari can’t open the page “http://www.shwetz-online.in/blog/wp-admin/”. The error was: “unknown error” (CFURLErrorDomain:-1011) Please choose Report Bugs to Apple from the Help menu, note the error number, and describe what you did before you saw this message.
I did not find it much impressive. Text rendering is bad, I hate this font smoothing thing, there is no option to disable it.
I will always prefer FF or Opera over this. But yea, it is better than IE7 (leaving text rendering apart) haha
About wp-admin – I was able to login properly without any errors..
@Deep – Some good testing time i suppose
@shwetz – whats a browser got to do with PHP ?
I liked it. Though it crashed on windows without any reason but still makes life lots more easier. (Now we can use safari, ff, IE all on windows and don’t need images of other OS to verify things.)
Browser is crashing. Also, getting some server errors with Safari 3 that we normally don’t get with other browsers. Apparently its some cookies problem.
I think they released 3.01 or something with many bug fixes…
safari is working gr8 on windows too. i found it exactly similar to firefox, with a few minor differences. one bug i noticed (i think it is a bug), that when you minimize the window, it opens in restored mode.
