How do you feel when you buy a brand new car and it just starts making noise on the half way? I felt the same after watching Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. No doubt it was a good movie but there is no fun in driving a broken car. You got the point right? No? You will have to read few more paragraphs to find out.

Okay, to cut the things short, it is about 6 couple going on a honeymoon to Goa by the same bus.

The couples include:

Hitesh (Ranvir Shorey) and Shilpa (Dia Mirza), Shilpa got married to Hitesh just to run away with her boyfriend Jignesh (Arjun Rampal). In other words, she was forcibly got married to Hitesh.

Oscar (Boman Irani) and Nahid (Shabana Azmi), not one of the young pairs but very young at heart. I really liked the dialogue when Shabana Azmi said something like “Baal kaale nahi rahe to kya hua, dil abhi bhi kaala hai” The line was taken from one of the Dilp Kumar’s movie but it suits perfectly for this couple. Both got married in their old age, just to support each other.

Partho (Kay Kay Menon) and Milly (Raima Sen), both deeply in love with each other but Partho is bit reserved and Milly is more of extrovert kind of a person.

Aspi (Abhay Deol) and Zara (Minissha Lamba), the best of all. Very cute couple I must say. Both are together since their childhood.

Pinky (Amisha Patel) and Vicky (Karan Khanna), both love each other. Pinky is more like a filmy girl, talks a lot, dreams a lot but on the other hand, Vicky is kind of a quiet guy. Vicky is more interested in guys than Girls.

Bunty (Vikram Chatwal) and Madhu (Sandhya Mridul), they find each other on the Internet. Madhu gets married to Bunty just to get over her past. But her married life becomes a big question mark when Bunty tells her that, he is a Gay.

Everything goes well in the first half, infact first half was simply superb, hilarious. But like I said earlier, the car starts making noise in the half way. The director looses the track in between. You feel really bad when you see a very well crafted track of Aspi and Zara turning into some stupid super power saga. One more bad track was of, Hitesh and Shilpa. Ranvir Shorey is totally wasted. He is such a great actor, he was going on pretty well in the beginning too but suddenly he just disappeared. Another bad part of the movie was, making serious scenes look funny. The best example would include adding funny track while showing the bad past of Madhu. The girl is sad because of the breakup and the narrator is busy in finding some funny track suitable for her situation. It just does not fit well, serious scenes are meant to be serious.

Okay, enough of bashing but there are many good points too. Let’s talk about it then Boman Irani and Shabana Azmi were just rocking. They had the best dialogues in their bag. The best one would be, when Boman Irani narrates his imaginary love story to a foreigner. It was supposed to be a funny scene but it left a very strong message in the end. Very touching scene it was. Abhay Deol and Minissha Lamba takes the 2nd place. I must say, very cute couple. Their dance sequence was just superb. Abhay Deol is just like the guy next door, very natural acting. Kay Kay Menon and Raima Sen takes 3rd place. The parachute scene was just hilarious, amazing piece of work. 2nd best moment was, the song ‘Sajnaji Vari Vari’.

Okay, let’s sum it up.

Music: It was fine, nothing great but couple of songs were very good. Specially ‘Sajnaji Vari Vari’.

Acting: Undoubtedly Boman Irani and Shabana Azmi were the best. Yo will find a totally new Boman Irani in each and every movie. Great actor. Hats off. Abhay Deol – very natural acting. Minissha Lamba – Cutie pie. Kay Kay Menon – Another great actor. A very different role compared to his previous films. Raima Sen – good, very seducing in few scenes. It won’t take time to get lost in her eyes. Amisha Patel, Vikram Chatwal, Sandhya Mridul were fine. Karan Khanna needs some acting lessons. Ranvir Shorey, Dia Mirza and Arjun Rampal – totally wasted. But I really liked the way Ranvir calls Dia..typical Gujju accent, Silpa haha.

The movie gets 3 stars out of 5.

Predicto Meter: Should do good business in multiplexes. Less chances of it doing good in small towns and single screens.
