Every friday, a new movie, few we want to miss and few we don’t. Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (KANK) was one of the movies which I was eagerly waiting for. But sadly it was not worth waiting for the movie. This was first Karan Johar movie in which half of the theatre started leaving before the movie ends; people just started leaving!!! (How can you expect people to wait for 3.15 hours just to see the crappy end?)
The people had lot of expectations from the movie and infact the movie could have been a good movie but few things just did not work well and in the end, everything got screwed up.

Let me start with the brief idea about the story.

The story is about Maya (Rani Mukherjee), wife of Rishi (Abhishek Bachchan) and Dev (Shahrukh Khan), husband of Riya (Priety Zinta) who are happy with their married lives but not from inside, they end up keeping their partners unhappy about one or other thing. I know, I know, that is a really bad way to narrate a good story but that’s how I am, in short bad in it. Okay back to story….in between these things, Dev and Maya gets to know each other and becomes friends, who are trying to sort out their own married lives but in between this, they both fell in love with each other. And that’s when the real story starts…
The story of the movie takes you to the next level from the regular hindi cinema, a very much for matured audience but it ends up being like one of the sas bahu dramas.

The first half of the movie picked up very well, some of the scenes in the movie were very good, specially the ones in which Amitabh Bachchan was involved.

The second half is exactly opposite of it, yeah, there are few moments which are very good but the most of the part is kind of bad or in simple language, messed up. The second half is too much stretched and they could have cut many things and made it shorter or less stretched. If I say more about the 2nd half here, people will kill me, specially Ashwin, who will shout at me saying, “why didn’t you put spoiler note”.. haha

Okay, its 5.30 AM, time to sum up the things…

Story: Very good story but Karan did his good job by messing it up totally and making it sas bahu types drama.

Music: Picking it up very well, but it has not left shadow of Kal Ho Na Ho in it, very much inspired actually…

Acting:

Abishek Bachchan – Very impressive role, I really liked his role in the movie.

Rani Mukherjee – Rocked, impressive…actually very fine actress after Madhuri Dixit.

Shahrukh Khan – Very good acting but he needs to do something different from these “rona dhona” stuff.

Priety Zinta – Again a very good actor but she it was Rani Mukharji’s film.

Amitabh Bachchan – A very different role, played very well. A class actor, can’t describe in words.
Kirron Kher – Did her job well though she had nothing much to do but did a good job.
In short, I would give this movie 2 stars out of 5, a very much hyped movie….

Note: I still do not understand why in the world Taran Adarsh loves Karan Johar so much? or it is about money? He gave this piece of…. 4.5 stars
