Strange title? Nah, It isn’t for me…
I did my Post Grad. in IT from Mumbai University and we have Yahoo Group where we students from our batch exchange messages so that everyone can keep in touch..
Now the problem is, out of around 60 members, around 5 people send forwarded messages and now being an ex-IT student you expect them to have some good knowledge about Internet and things happening on the net…
But few of them are just dumb…simply dumbest guys around I can say….they believe in scam mails like Bill Gates Is Sharing His Fortune! which says something like this….
Please do not take this for a junk letter. Bill Gates is sharing his fortune. If you ignore this you will repent later. Microsoft and AOL are now the largest Internet companies and in an effort to make sure that Internet Explorer remains the most widely used program, Microsoft and AOL are running an e-mail beta test.
When you forward this e-mail to friends, Microsoft can and will track it (if you are a Microsoft Windows user) for a two week time period.
For every person that you forward this e-mail to, Microsoft will pay you $245.00, for every person that you sent it to that forwards it on, Microsoft will pay you $243.00 and for every third person that receives it, you will be paid $241.00. Within two week! s, Microsoft will contact you for your address and then send you a cheque.
This is seriously dumb…how can they just believe in such kind of hoax, few months back also one of the guys had forwarded similar mail and I had sent him firing reply but I think that did not work and another guy sent Microsoft hoax lol so this time I decided to reply the way they understand….and replied back saying I earned $1000 from it in a week and I send this mail 100 people in a day haha…and in the end provided link to this page with big lol, so smart people will understand the meaning and dumb ones will keep on forwarding it and wait for Microsoft to call them hahah…
So moral of the story, Mumbai University should ask some logical questions in their entrance test rather than asking stupid questions like what is email and what is HTTP….haha (good) old Mumbai University is never going to change lol
Good one, same thing happening in my class’s yahoo group. Wrote about it here:
