It seems that I have to deal with these people every other day for some or other reasons.
I had bad experiences with ICICI customer support earlier but I just used to ignore it…coz sometimes it happens..

I wanted to apply for a credit card 6-7 months back…As I already have account with them so I just called them up and asked for credit card eligibility…They took all my details and told me that their sales representative would call me up…2 days, 3, days, 1 week….no one cared to call me back…I called them up again couple of times, I got same response…

Finally I got fed up with them, called up HSBC…their person called me back in a day and I finally got a credit card after providing all the required documents and all…

Few months after that I got a call from ICICI so called “Sales Representative”, asking “Sir do you need a credit card? We will give you 1 year for free, no service charges” I was like, dude just f**k off. When I needed the credit card none of you guys called me up and when I have one, You are asking me to have one more….

2nd Experience….
It is very recent experience, I want to apply for a personal loan so I just called up ICICI People first as I have 2 accounts with them (Savings and Current Account – For my Company).

I was expecting that there should not be any problem in getting loan from them since I already have 2 accounts with them and enough work experience…

So just called them up…

1st time..

ICICI : Hello, How may I help you sir?
Me: I need personal loan…can you give me more info on that..
ICICI : Sure sir, before that I would like to know you are salaried or self employed person…
Me: Salaried
ICICI: Work Exp?
Me: approx 1 and half Year
ICICI: Are you Graduate or Post Graduate?
Me: Post Grad..
ICICI: Sorry sir, we cannot give loan to you since you do not fit in the eligibility criteria..
ME: Woha ? How come?
ICICI: For Post Grad we need atleast 2 years of Work Exp…
Me: and for Grads?
ICICI: 1 year…

Damn for a moment I was like…people say you should study more and these people are saying don’t study more otherwise we wont give you loan…

I decided that I should call them 2nd time and see what they are saying when I say..I am graduate…

here 2nd conversation goes…

ICICI : Hello, How may I help you sir?
Me: Please give me more info about personal loan…
ICICI: Sir your name please?
Me: Deep Ganatra
ICICI: Deep…?
Me: It’s Ganatra…G as in God..
ICICI: Ganadra…
Me: (damn let it be…)
// she gave me some info about personal loan…
ICICI: Sir, before giving more information, I would like to have some information about you so that I can pass it on to our Sales Representative
Me: okay…
ICICI: Salaried or Self Emp..
Me: Sal..
ICICI: company?
Me: told the company name I work for…
ICICI: Give me a moment sir…
// I don’t know where she went..kept me on hold for 2-3 mins
ICICI: Sorry to keep you on hold sir..can you tell me you are gradute or post graduate?
Me: (Let me say Graduate this time and see what they are saying), Graduate…
ICICI: Sorry sir, you are not eligible for the loan..
Me: Why?
ICICI: We need atleast 5 years of Work Ex. if you are graduate…
Me: what? but on your site it says you need 1 year of work exp?
ICICI: Sir, we do not provide exact info on the site…
Me: // Really shocked…and decided that never ever in my life gonna call these stupid people for anything except bank enquiry…

This was the worst experience I have ever revived in my life, they give so much of wrong info to customers…

2 people from same organization give me different information about same thing…

I do not remember the name of first person but 2nd was female named Rupa

I was pretty impressed with ICICI that, their customer support is so quick and all..but last couple of bad experiences proved that…they are quick in picking up the phone but real bad in handling the situation after that…

Where HSBC and HDFC kept me waited for sometime…but my queries were solved…Most probably I will go with HSBC only…

So moral of the story…
If you guys are planning to take loan or credit card then keep one thing is mind that “ICICI is never gonna help me…”
